Program Educational Goals

Gain and demonstrate an understanding of foundational economic principles.
Enhance critical thinking skills by using economic concepts and models to explain economic behavior and outcomes, to evaluate policy impact, and to propose solution strategies.
Develop quantitative reasoning by using advanced econometrics and mathematical optimization techniques to construct and solve models, assess solutions, interpret data, and critique empirical research.
Communicate effectively about economic ideas, issues, and analyses.
Understand and evaluate economic events and economic policy.

Three credits of Social and Behavioral Sciences (cannot be satisfied by an ECON course, including cross-lists)
