Mathematics and Data Science (HBS)

Honors Requirements:

The recipient of this degree must complete:

1. All requirements for the Mathematics and Data Science (BS) .
2. All the University’s generic requirements for the Honors Degree .

Major Requirements Taken as Honors:

The 12 Honors credits in the major must be from courses in the two categories below and must include at least 3 credits in MATH:

1. Honors courses taken at the 400-level or higher in the departments of MATH, CISC, and STAT.
2. The following 600-level courses:

• MATH 637 - Mathematical Techniques in Data Science
• MATH 672 - Vector Spaces
• CISC 621 - Algorithm Design and Analysis

• CISC 683 - Introduction to Data Mining
• CISC 684 - Introduction to Machine Learning
• STAT 611 - Regression Analysis
• STAT 613 - Applied Multivariate Statistics
• STAT 674 - Applied Data Base Management
• STAT 675 - Logistic Regression
