Floating point numbers; conditioning and stability; LU, Cholesky, and QR factorizations; square and overdetermined linear systems; Newton and quasi-Newton rootfinding methods; piecewise polynomials for interpolation, integration, and finite differences; explicit methods for initial-value problems.
