FINC 872 - Workshop in Finance: Empirical Research (3cr.) Credit(s): 3 WORKSHOP IN FINANCE: EMPIRICAL Component: Lecture Employ empirical methods to test various hypotheses and financial relationships. Expect to test hypotheses regarding random walks and market efficiency, asset pricing, capital structure, corporate governance, accounting information and returns, and transaction costs. Use SAS to analyze data provided by Compustat, CRSP, NYSE-TAQ and other sources. Allowed Units: 3 Grading Basis: Student Option PREREQ: FINC 870 or ECON 803 (or equivalent), and FINC 871 . FINC 871 may be taken concurrently. RESTRICTIONS: Students admitted to the M.S. Finance, Dual MBA/MS Finance or M.S., M.A., and Ph.D. Economics programs. Course Typically Offered: Spring
