Major Requirements:

Human Services Core
Minimum grade C- in all HDFS courses and restricted electives. A student failing to meet the minimum required grade of C- when taking a major course for the second time may not be permitted to remain in an HDFS major requiring that course. Students may appeal this decision.
Families, Policy and Practice Elective:

Two of the following (the developmental elective must be related to the “area of interest” and approved by the advisor): Restricted Electives/Area of Interest*:
- Twelve credits taken from the approved lists below or other course(s) approved by the advisor.
- Determined in consultation with advisor upon completion of HDFS 235 .
- Nine credits of restricted electives from the list of suggested courses below must be completed prior to HDFS 449.

Restricted Electives may be fulfilled with a minor. Minors may include, but are not limited to, psychology, public policy, criminal justice, disabilities studies, medical social services, women’s studies, sociology; related electives may be necessary to complete 12 credits. After required courses are completed, sufficient elective credits must be taken to meet the minimum credits required for the degree. Only four credits of Music ensemble and four credits of 100- and 200-level courses in Military Science/Army ROTC may be counted toward the degree. Credits to Total a Minimum of 120
