Return to Department

The interdepartmental major consists of 51 credit hours selected from related fields with a minimum of 21 credit hours selected from each major field. In general, the Economics Department requires that the 21 hours of economics include ECON 101 , ECON 103 , ECON 300  or ECON 301 , and ECON 303 . Before considering an interdepartmental major program, the student should strongly consider the option of a major in one field and a minor in the other.

Students wishing to explore the possibility of developing an interdepartmental major with other departments should arrange conferences with their faculty advisors and the appropriate department chairs to plan their programs. Approval of the program is also required by the Assistant Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences.
