Education Core Courses (9 hours):

• EDUC 741 - Diversity in ESL Classrooms (3cr.)

Linguistics and TESL Courses (18 hours):

• LING 676 - Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism (3cr.)
• LING 677 - The Structure of English (3cr.)
• LLCU 622 - Language Syllabus Design (3cr.)
• LLCU 624 - Second Language Testing (3cr.)
• EDUC 672 - Teaching English as a Second Language (3cr.)
• EDUC 647 - Advanced Methods in Teaching ESL (3cr.)

Teaching Practicum (6 credits):

Students must provide evidence of at least six (6) hours of a foreign language at the intermediate level or pass a proficiency test.

• EDUC 742 - Practicum in Teaching English as a Second Language (3 to 6cr.) for students not seeking teacher certification OR
• EDUC 750 - Graduate Teaching Internship (3 to 9cr.) for students seeking teacher certification
