Reseach, Methods, and Analysis:

One of the following (EDUC 665 or UAPP 808 recommended, but other courses may be taken if appropriate):

• EDUC 665 - Elementary Statistics (3cr.)
• EDUC 850 - Qualitative Research in Educational Settings (3cr.)
• SOCI 605 - Data Collection and Analysis (3cr.)
• UAPP 691 - Quantitative Analysis in Public and Nonprofit Sectors (3cr.)
• UAPP 702 - Research Methods in Urban and Public Policy (3cr.)
• UAPP 808 - Qualitative Methods for Program Evaluation (3cr.)

Public Policy and Organizational Decision-making:

• MAST 663 - Decision Tools for Policy Analysis (3cr.)

Other Requirements:

• Nine credits of electives.
• DISA 680 - Disaster Science and Management Seminar (1cr.) (two semesters for credit)
• DISA 681 - Disaster Science and Management Professional Development (0cr.) (required each semester for all full-time students after completing two semesters of DISA 680)
• DISA 857 - Practicum (1cr.)
• DISA 858 - Disaster Science and Management Internship (3cr.) (Completed in any semester (including summer or winter), the 120-hour internship requires a report; examples of potential internship placements include DEMA, FEMA, other DHS Offices, UN, and USAID)
