CHIN 204 - The Art of Chinese Calligraphy Credit(s): 3 THE ART OF CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY Component: Lecture Introduction to the rich art of Chinese calligraphy that has a long history of over 2,000 years. Explore the evolution of Chinese characters, the aesthetics of Chinese calligraphy, various kinds of intriguing ink and brush writing. Students will learn how to use brush pen and some basics of Chinese painting and be able to paint simple objects.
