HDFS 490 - Community Empowerment through Entrepreneurship Credit(s): 3 COMMUNITY EMPOWER THROUGH ENTR Component: Lecture Focus on an emerging form of entrepreneurship which focuses on integrating the physical and social capital of communities with economic considerations and possibilities. Topics will include strengths based approaches to community development, the mobilization of community members, stakeholder participation, multi-party collaborations, and advocacy. Identifying social capital, encouraging local community empowerment in urban and rural areas, and increasing and leveraging education, training and capacity will be covered.
