MATH 612 - Computational Methods for Equation Solving and Function Min (3cr.) Credit(s): 3 COMP METH FOR EQU SOLV AND MIN Component: Lecture LU and QR factorizations, singular value and eigenvalue decompositions, matrix conditioning, solution of linear systems and linear least-squares problems, iterative methods in linear algebra, descent and quasi-Newton methods of optimization, globalizing convergence, constrained optimization, applications. Allowed Units: 3 Grading Basis: Student Option PREREQ: Elementary linear algebra and programming.
