LING 601 - Historical Linguistics (3cr.) Credit(s): 3 HISTORICAL LINGUISTICS Component: Lecture Examines how languages evolve over time and how present and past languages are related to each other. Students learn techniques of historical analysis, such as the comparative method, and what is known about the historical development of major linguistic families like the Indo-European family of languages.
