Students graduating with this degree will:
- describe the role of the nonprofit sector in the U.S.;
- identify the formal and informal institutions, structures, and processes involved in community-building;
- explore the power of philanthropy and volunteerism for strong and healthy communities;
- diagnose social problems and issues arising in communities;
- recognize what it means to be engaged in diverse communities and civic life;
- develop a personal vision for how to lead and empower others;
- demonstrate communication skills needed to foster a better society.

- ENGL 110 - First-Year Writing Credit(s): 3 (C- minimum)

Major Related Requirements
Coursework used for major-related requirements may simultaneously satisfy university requirements. Courses taken to fulfill specific requirements (except FYS and Sophomore Seminar) must be taken for a regular grade, not pass/fail, and must receive a C- or better. UD-ONLINE courses may be used to satisfy requirements.
Major Core Requirements
Major courses may not be counted towards university requirements. Electives
After required courses are completed, sufficient elective credits must be taken to meet the minimum credit requirement for the degree. Students may opt to take one free elective course per semester pass/fail, but the total number of credits taken on a pass/fail basis may not exceed 12, excluding courses that are graded pass/fail only. Courses numbered below 100-level do not count toward a degree. Credits to Total a Minimum of 60
