Epidemiology (PhD)

Program Educational Goals:
Students who complete the Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology will demonstrate advanced proficiency with:
- Conducting epidemiologic research in both academic and practice settings. [Goal 1]
- Utilizing surveillance systems and other public health data in the design and implementation of epidemiologic studies to improve community and population health. [Goal 2]
- Executing essential public health functions, including defining public health practice and policy, investigating outbreaks, building capacity for risk assessment and surveillance, and guiding interventions to address a broad range of health issues. [Goal 3]

Requirements for the Degree:
Advanced Statistics:
15 credits. In addition to EPID 613 , four additional courses as appropriate or five statistics courses approved by the Program Director.
Relevant Coursework in Content Area:
21 credits.
Doctoral Seminar:

Choose 5 from the following (15 credits): Grant Writing and Dissertation:
