Learning Outcomes for the Non-Thesis Option
- Articulate the state of the hospitality industry today which includes its history, types of products, operating models etc.
- Evaluate, devise and implement strategies to enhance service quality in a service organization.
- Apply fundamental principles of revenue management towards achieving firm outcomes of optimized capacity and revenue maximization.
- Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives for hospitality organizations using strategic management tools.
- Evaluate a hospitality firm’s financial performance using techniques and decision criteria in corporate financial management decision-making.
- Perform a feasibility analysis for a potential hospitality project and outline product development initiatives using project management techniques.
- Examine and solve hospitality business problems using statistical techniques for effective decision making.
- Solve data-driven problems in hospitality organizations, and communicate the relevance of research findings through written and oral forms of presentation.

Requirements for the Degree:
Graduate students must have a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 3.0 to be eligible for the degree. All graduate-numbered courses taken with graduate student classification at the University of Delaware are applied to the cumulative index. Credit hours and courses for which the grade is below “C-” do not count toward the degree though the grade is applied to the index. Requirements for the Non-Thesis Option:
Credits to Total a Minimum of 30
Requirements for the Thesis Option:
Credits to Total a Minimum of 39
