Mathematics and Data Science Minor

Required courses:

• MATH 219 - Data Science I Credit(s): 3
• MATH 350 - Probability Theory and Simulation Methods Credit(s): 3
• MATH 419 - Data Science II Credit(s): 3

• An additional three credits of MATH at the 300 level or above, not including MATH 302, MATH 305, MATH 349, and MATH 351, and not including courses in mathematics education such as MATH 308, MATH 379, MATH 380, and MATH 382. Courses which are crosslisted with a Mathematical Sciences (MATH) course may be counted toward the minor.

• Students who have previously taken a course in data science can request to be exempted from taking MATH 219, but need to take another MATH course at the 300 level or above instead (not including MATH 302, MATH 305, MATH 349, and MATH 351, and not including courses in mathematics education).
