Program Educational Goals:
- Advocacy: Students will be able to articulate personal values and ethics, relate to evidence-based facts, and persuade and educate others in the practice of sustainable landscapes.
- Oral Communication: Students will be able to clearly convey information and ideas through speech to a variety of individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
- Written Communication: Students will be able to develop and express ideas in writing in many genres and styles. This includes working with many different writing technologies, and mixing texts, data, and images.
- Design Skills: Students will be able to demonstrate thoughtful, creative, and imaginative learning to craft intentional and unique solutions to a problem using high-quality craftsmanship.
- Clarity of Concept: Students will be able to articulate big ideas in simple terms through various stages of design from start to finish and describe the process that stimulated the idea. The overall concept is recognizable in multiple iterations of design through process.
- Creative Problem Solving Outcome: Students will be able to use divergence and convergence in each step of the creative problem-solving process including locating a challenge or problem, gathering data, clarifying the problem, generating alternatives, recommending appropriate solutions and developing a plan of action for implementation.
