Graduate Certificate in Computer Science Education

Core Course Requirements

The graduate certificate in Computer Science Education is a 12-credit program. For 9 of those 12 credits, all candidates must complete the following three 3-credit courses:

• EDUC 621 - Internet Technologies Credit(s): 3

•      (Computational Thinking On the Internet)

• EDUC 639 - Educational Technology Topics Credit(s): 3

•      (Topic must be Teaching Computer Science)

• CISC 605 - Computer Science Principles Credit(s): 3

Grades 9-12

Candidates focusing on grades 9-12 must complete the following three-credit course:

• CISC 606 - Foundations in Programming Credit(s): 3

Grades K-8

Candidates focusing on grades K-8 must complete one of the following three-credit courses:

• CISC 606 - Foundations in Programming Credit(s): 3
• EDUC 638 - Learning Technologies Across Curricula Credit(s): 3
• EDUC 650 - Technology and Cognition Credit(s): 3
• EDUC 611 - Introduction to Educational Technology Credit(s): 3
• EDUC 777 - Fostering Technology Based Collaboration Credit(s): 3
• EDUC 815 - Design of Learning Environments Credit(s): 3
