Program Requirements:
Students are required to work with their advisor during their first semester of study and develop a plan of study. The Master of Science in Disaster Science and Management requires 30 credits.
The non-thesis option requires 24 credits of graduate level coursework, at least three semesters of seminar SPPA 661 - Masters Level Professional Development (taken at least two semesters at one-credit per semester and one semester for zero credits), and four credits of practicum.
The thesis option includes 21 credits of graduate level courses, at least four semesters of seminar SPPA 661 - Masters Level Professional Development (taken at least two semesters at one-credit and two semesters at zero credit), one credit of practicum, and six credits of thesis.
Study abroad is strongly encouraged for both options.
