Museum Studies Certificate

Admissions Requirement:

The Certificate of Museum Studies is available to students enrolled in a degree granting graduate program at the University, such as a Masters’ or Ph.D. program in History , Urban Affairs and Public Policy , Education , Art History , Art Conservation , Master of Business Administration , Liberal Studies Program  (MALS), Fashion and Apparel Studies (MS) , and the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture .

To apply for the Museum Studies Certificate Program, download the Intake Form, complete it, and return it to the Museum Studies office via email or postal mail

Museum Studies Certificate Requirements:

• MSST 600 - Introduction to Museums: History and Professional Practice Credit(s): 3

• Six elective credits to be selected from the following:

  • Any MSST class
  • One crosslisted course with permission of the director
  • Three 1-credit courses in the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration  (UAPP)
• MSST 804 - Museum Internship Credit(s): 3
