Program Requirements for the M.Ed. in Educational Technology
1. Core Courses (6 credits)
Core Courses (6 credits) that ground the candidate in curriculum (EDUC 638 ), technology and cognition (EDUC 650 ).
2. Specialization Courses (9 credits)
Specialization courses (9 credits) that introduce the candidate to the field of educational technology (EDUC 611 ) and provide authentic practice in multimeida (EDUC 685 ) and Internet technologies (EDUC 621 ).
3. Restricted Electives (12-18 credits)
Restricted electives (12-18 credits) that provide practical experience with emerging technologies, mobile web design, eLearning, assistive technology, and e-book authoring and publishing. Elective course numbers include EDUC 639 , EDUC 653 , EDUC 655 , EDUC 656 , EDUC 692 , EDUC 762 , EDUC 777 , and EDUC 815 . 4. Master’s Comprehensive Examination, research paper or Master’s Thesis
Students complete a Master’s Comprehensive Examination, research paper or Master’s Thesis to graduate from this program. This decision is made in consultation with the student’s faculty advisor.
