LARC 230 - Introduction to Construction Materials and Methods Credit(s): 3 CONSTRUCTION MATS & MTDS Component: Studio This course is an introduction to many of the key materials and methods used in landscape design and construction and an introduction to understanding landforms and site manipulation. Topics include material characteristics and uses, methods of construction, basic principles of landscape detailing and construction documentation conventions, basic landform signatures, contours and grading principles. Through lectures, site visits and practical exercises, students are introduced to the drafting and graphic communication skills typically used in construction documentation.
