NURS 234 - Simulated Clinical Practicum I Credit(s): 1 SIM CLINICAL PRACT I Component: Practicum This course focuses on the essentials of patient safety, communication strategies, basic clinical nursing skills (vital signs, bathing, bed making, toileting, assisting with patient mobility, etc.), patient education related to basic care, and charting in the electronic health record.Students are preparing to practice in the clinical setting in their junior and senior years. These basic clinical nursing skills can be applied to diverse populations across many clinical settings. Simulation experiences offer students the opportunity to learn and practice without fear of error and compromise of patient safety. This course prepares students for future practice in patient care settings.
