PHIL 212 - Markets, Ethics, and Law Credit(s): 3 MARKETS, ETHICS, AND LAW Component: Lecture Explores the ways markets shape not only our economic relations but also our social and political relations. Examine contract law, the legal theory and case law, to see how laws shape markets. Explore the ways in which classical political economy focused not only on the economic benefits of markets but also on their social and political effects. Finally, examine contemporary moral arguments against markets in women’s sexual and reproductive labor, in child labor, and in human organs, among others.
