WHAT IS HUMAN NATURE?

Explores the idea that the human is a unique social, moral, and philosophical being despite the evolutionary contention that the human is a natural animal. Surveys classic human nature arguments regarding sex and gender, race, reproduction, emotions, and other topics, while emphasizing the incredible diversity of human culture and experience. Considers how beliefs about human nature run through religion, politics, and popular assumptions about family, work, crime, and other topics. Emphasizes the crucial linkages between nuanced and complex views of human nature and values of ethics, inclusion, and diversity.
