INTRODUCTORY PHYSICS I

First course in a sequence with PHYS 202 that provides an introduction to physics for students in the life and environmental sciences. Introduction to concepts of force, energy, and momentum, with examples of linear, rotational, and oscillatory motion. Solid body and fluid mechanics discussed.

PREREQ: MATH 115 or MATH 117 or MATH 221 or MATH 231 or MATH 241. COREQ: PHYS 221. RESTRICTIONS: Requires a strong mathematics background in geometry, algebra and trigonometry. Student who received credit in PHYS 203 or PHYS 207 are not eligible to take this course without permission.
