SOCI 633 - Sociology of Health & IllnessCredit(s): 3 SOCIOLOGY OF HEALTH & ILLNESS Component: Lecture Focusing specifically on the medical profession, interactions in the health care setting, social causation of illness, the medicalization of social problems, patient experience of health and illness, treatment systems and organization of care, as well as politics and the changing medical care system, this course provides students the theoretical and methodological tools to examine the complex linkages between macrosocial phenomena and individual-level experiences.
