MEEG 681 - CytomechanicsCredit(s): 3 CYTOMECHANICS Component: Lecture Cell, the universal unit of life, behaves as a “mechanical living” entity. Besides sensing, “smell or taste” mediated by chemical reactions, cells also display a strong sense of “touch” mediated by mechanical interactions. Mechanics is involved in many fundamental processes such as cell shape, mobility, and differentiation. In this course, the students will be exposed to the principles of cytomechanics and the fascinating cellular responses and adaptation to the mechanical environment. Repeatable for Credit: N Allowed Units: 3 Multiple Term Enrollment: N Grading Basis: Student Option PREREQ: BISC207 and MEEG215 or instructors approval.
