CHEG 624 - Bio-Based MaterialsCredit(s): 3 BIO-BASED MATERIALS Component: Lecture The conversion of biomass to useful materials such as polymers and composites has considerable economic and environmental value, particularly in times of global warming and diminishing petroleum oil reserves. Focus on the development of bio-based materials in support of renewable energy (Solar, Wind, Hydro, Hydrogen) and related Advanced Materials Technologies (especially Energy Efficient Housing). The objective of this multidisciplinary approach is to address climate change by providing a sustainable supply of low cost, bio-based materials for the coming renewable energy infrastructure.
