HIST 364 - Eurasian China and the World, 1300-Present (3cr.)Credit(s): 3 EURASIAN CHINA AND THE WORLD Component: Lecture China became a vast Eurasian state spreading from Beijing to the Himalayas during the past seven centuries by integrating Manchuria, Mongolia, Xinjiang and Tibet into its territory. Examines how China developed into a Eurasian state from the Mongol Empire to the People’s Republic. Discuss the ongoing consequences of this transformation for East Asia, Inner Asia, Southeast Asia, and the world. Major topics include military conquest, Sino-Western contacts, migrations, border negotiations, colonialism, imperialism and nationalism.
