PHYS 201 - Introductory Physics I (4cr.)Credit(s): 4 INTRODUCTORY PHYSICS I Component: Lecture First course in a sequence with PHYS 202 that provides an introduction to physics for students in the life and environmental sciences. Introduction to concepts of force, energy, and momentum, with examples of linear, rotational, and oscillatory motion. Solid body and fluid mechanics discussed. Allowed Units: 4 Grading Basis: Student Option PREREQ: MATH 115 or MATH 117 or MATH 221 or MATH 241 . RESTRICTIONS: Requires a strong mathematics background in geometry, algebra and trigonometry. Only one course among PHYS201, PHYS 207 and SCEN 101 can count toward graduation.
