  • Student Teaching:

    To qualify for admission to student teaching, LLCP MA Certification Track students must obtain a rating of AL (Advanced Low) on the Avant STAMP 4S (or advisor-approved equivalent) in the target language.

    All LLCP MA Certification Track students must also have a GPA of 2.75 overall, a GPA of 3.0 in their required language/literature courses, and a GPA of 3.0 in their required pedagogy courses (LLCU 621 or 623, LLCU 622, LLCU 624 and LLCU 617) in order to be eligible to student teach. See EDUC 400 for pre and co-requisite examination requirements. Students must consult with the World Languages Education program coordinator to obtain the student teaching application and other information concerning student teaching policies.

All recipients of a Graduate Assistantship (TAship, RAship, etc.) are required to take LLCU 623. If a student has completed course work judged equivalent to LLCU 622, 623 or 624 and can provide documentation (e.g., teaching portfolio, syllabi, teaching certificate), substitutions within the field of World Language pedagogy may be accepted.
