Program Educational Goals:
- Understand the economic principles and policies needed to teach economics at the elementary and secondary school levels.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of personal finance and entrepreneurship principles.
- Design effective economics, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education curricula.
- Communicate effectively about economics, personal finance, and entrepreneurship ideas, issues, and analyses with other educators, school administrators, and government officials.
- Incorporate economics into other course curricula such as math and social studies.

Requirements
The MA degree requires 30 credit hours of graduate work, 18 of which are in five required areas: microeconomics, macroeconomics, monetary and international trade theories, contemporary economic issues, and curriculum strategies. In addition, candidates must design and implement an economic education program.
