Program Requirements

The Biden School offers a combined 4+1 Bachelor of Science (BS) in Leadership and Master of Urban Affairs and Public Policy (MA) program that allows students to complete both the BS and the MA in a total of five years of full-time study. All requirements of both degree programs must be satisfied and up to 12 credits of graduate coursework may be dual counted to satisfy requirements of both the BS degree and the MA degree. Leadership students may declare a Public Policy minor in their junior or senior year. They may also count the 12 credits of graduate coursework in addition to the introductory course sequence of UAPP110, UAPP225, and UAPP325 towards the 18-credit Public Policy minor if they choose to declare it.

Students may apply to the 4+1 BS/MA program after completing 60 credits in the undergraduate degree, which is typically the fall of their junior year. Student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 and must be enrolled in, or have completed, the introductory course sequence of UAPP110, UAPP225, and UAPP325 by the time they apply to the program.
