Second Writing Requirement:


Any three-credit course satisfying the College of Arts and Sciences Second Writing Requirement  requirement. Recommended courses:

Physical Sciences:


  • Minimum of eight credits of lab science selected from Chemistry, Physics, Geology, or Physical Science.

Core:


Students lacking adequate preparation for MATH 242  should begin with MATH 241 . A grade of C- or better required for Core requirements. A maximum of three credits of independent study in Applied Economics and Statistics and a maximum of six credits in all areas, including Applied Economics and Statistics, may be counted toward a degree.

Note:


*STAT 468  satisfies both the Capstone requirement and the DLE requirement. STAT 468  is dual-listed with STAT 668, however STAT 668 does not satisfy the Capstone requirement, nor does it satisfy the DLE requirement.

One of the following:


  • STAT 611 - Regression Analysis
  • STAT 615 - Design and Analysis of Experiments
  • STAT 674 - Applied Data Base Management

Note:


A specific course plan for fulfillment of the Area of Application requirement should be established during the freshman or sophomore year. If you are interested in a minor other than those listed, have declared a second major, or have already earned a degree in a field other than Mathematics or Statistics, reach out to your academic advisor regarding the Area of Application requirement. 

Electives:


After required courses are completed, sufficient elective credits must be taken to meet the minimum credit requirement for the degree.
