Human Nutrition - Non-Thesis (MS)

Non-Thesis Option

The Non-Thesis Option requires the courses below and:

• completion and submission of a scholarly project
• satisfactory performance on a written comprehensive exam
• presentation of the scholarly project in seminar format to the department faculty.

Prerequisites:

• Inorganic Chemistry
• Organic Chemistry
• Biochemistry
• Physiology
• Nutrition (requiring biochemistry as a prerequisite)

Minimum Admission Requirements:

• 1000 GRE (Verbal & Quantitative) (or 297 for tests taken on or after August 1, 2011)
• 2.75 Cumulative GPA
• 3.00 GPA based on major courses

Course Requirements:

• NTDT 611 - Advanced Macronutrient Metabolism Credit(s): 3
• NTDT 631 - Advanced Micronutrient Metabolism Credit(s): 3
• NTDT Elective(s) 6-9 credits
• NTDT 665 - Seminar Credit(s): 1-3 (taken twice for two credits)
• NTDT 669 - Field Project or Theoretical Paper Credit(s): 1-6
• Statistics course 3 credits
• Research Design course 3 credits
• Elective(s) 3-6 credits
