Fine Arts (MFA)

Requirements for the Degree:


A minimum of 60 credits, a public exhibition and a supporting paper are required for the MFA degree.

Graduate faculty reviews with each student are held at the end of each semester (15, 30, and 45 hour reviews). Students must pass these reviews to continue in the program. Students who do not pass the review are generally placed on probation for one semester or in some cases asked to leave the program. Once a student is placed on probation, they have one semester to improve their performance or they will be asked to leave the program.

Graduate Studio:


Students enroll in this course for 33 credits over the course of two years.

Graduate Critique:


Students enroll for 12 credits over the course of two years.

Non-Art Academic:


  • Students will take an academic course outside of the Art & Design department to augment and expand their studio research.
