Minor Requirements:
Eighteen ARTH credits.
- Nine of the eighteen credits must be taken at UD.
- Of the eighteen credits, only the maximum of six credits can be taken from this list of courses: ARTH 239 , ARTH 249 , ARTH 280 , and ARTH 454 .
Electives:
- Six credits.
- Two ARTH electives (no more than six credits of 100-level* of ARTH courses; (ARTH 153 and ARTH 154 are recommended).
Distribution Area Requirements:
- Twelve credits.
- Four ARTH courses from the Geocultural and Chronological distribution areas as designated below**:

Note:
*Students can petition to fill these requirements with ARTH courses that are higher than 100 level, with permission from their Art History faculty advisors.
**Courses used to meet one group’s requirement cannot be used to fulfill the other group and cannot be used to fulfill other Minor requirements.
- Any course(s) taken will first count for the Geocultural Group, and once that Group’s requirements are satisfied, then Chronological group requirements.
- Any diversion from this order must be approved by ARTH faculty advisors with Course Substitution Form.
*** Several courses in Art History may be applied toward fulfilling Group A and B breadth requirements in the College of Arts and Sciences.
