Requirements for the Degree
The four-year curriculum for the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education contains required graduate courses that prepare the student for the Master in Science curriculum. With this 4+1 plan and the proper scheduling of MS classes, students may enter immediately into the MS program full-time with the possibility of completion within one year.
UD Early Childhood Education (BS) undergraduate majors who are provisionally granted admission to the 4+1 MS HDFS: Concentration in Early Childhood Development and Inclusive Education and subsequently admitted to the MS HDFS program can waive the requirement to take a) HDFS 411 or HDFS 641, b) HDFS 406 by completing HDFS 606, and c) HDFS 445 by taking HDFS 647. For any undergraduate course requirement to be waived, the student needs to earn a grade of B (3.0) or better in the corresponding HDFS graduate course. Refer to www.hdfs.udel.edu for information about application procedures for provisional admission.
