Requirements for the Degree
Depending on the option chosen, between 31 and 42 credits are required, including at least 15 in the major language(s) and literature(s) and a minimum of 9 in foreign language pedagogy. Course work for students planning to seek teacher certification as well as the degree consists of 33 credits, including 15 in the major language, 9 in foreign language pedagogy, and 9 in Education (EDUC 613 , EDUC 614 , EDUC 619 ); these students must also pass a teacher competency test as established by the University Council on Teacher Education, and must student teach. Candidates must pass a written and oral comprehensive examination based on reading lists in the major literature and in foreign language pedagogy. Last Revised for 2019-2020 Academic Year
