Requirements for the Master’s Degree
VI. Composition Concentration Courses:
Students are required to complete 32 credit hours (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of B or better) to be granted the degree Master of Music: Composition. All students take the following:
Note:
*Although MUSC 601 and MUSC 636 are variable 1-3 cr. courses, each must be taken for 3 cr. to satisfy degree requirements
**Although MUSC 630 is a 1 cr. course, it must be taken three times to satisfy degree requirement; 3 credits of the “Still Breathing” Chamber Ensemble are required
Other Requirements:
Toward the end of the course of study, the student must pass an oral examination and complete 3 credits of Master’s Recital, MUSC601. Credits to Total a Minimum of 32
