Program Requirements for the M.A. in TESL
This M.A. program requires 33 credit hours of course work, including:
Education Core Courses (9 hours):
Linguistics and TESL Courses (18 hours):
Teaching Practicum (6 credits):
Students must provide evidence of at least six (6) hours of a foreign language at the intermediate level or pass a proficiency test.
Note:
- All students must take the Praxis II exam in TESL prior to being allowed to begin their teaching practicum.
- Additionally, students seeking teacher certification must pass the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators test as a pre-requisite to the Graduate Teaching Internship.
