  • ENGL 110 - Critical Reading and Writing (minimum grade C-) 3
  • First Year Experience (FYE) 1
  • University Breadth Requirements 12

Please note that University Breadth requirements cannot be satisfied with FASH courses.

  • Discovery Learning Experience (DLE) 3
  • Multi-cultural Course 3

College Requirements


  • CAS Second Writing Course (minimum grade C-) 3

This course must be taken after completion of 60 credit hours. Approved courses are designated in each semester’s Registration Booklet and in the UD Courses Search. See list of approved courses for the CAS Second Writing requirement.

  • MATH 114, MATH 115, or higher/equivalent course (minimum grade C-) 3
  • Intermediate Foreign Language 0-12

Completion of intermediate level course (107 or 202) or higher, or exemption

College Breadth Requirements


(minimum grade C-)

A total of 28-29 credits from Groups A, B, C, and D are required, with a minimum of six credits in each group. The six credits from each group can be in the same area. If selected carefully, in consultation with your faculty advisor, some breadth courses (non-FASH) can simultaneously satisfy both University and College breadth requirements.

Group B: History and Cultural Change

Three credits (non-FASH) selected from approved CAS Group B list

Group D: Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Technology
