Social Entrepreneurship Certificate

Certificate Requirements:


The certificate is open to ALL undergraduate students.

Basics of Entrepreneurship:


One of the following options:

ENTR 350 - Introduction to Entrepreneurship  

OR

A sequence of any three 1-credit, ENTR-designated courses at the 100- or 200- level which must include: ENTR 156 - From Ideas to Action   as one of the three. Examples of other 1-credit courses include: ENTR 155 - Start Up of the Professional You  , ENTR 157 - Venturing for Good   and ENTR 256  /BHAN 256 - Mindfulness for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship  .

Special Considerations for Social Ventures:


Social Entrepreneurship Practicum


Note:


Course substitutes for the “Social Entrepreneurship Practicum” requirement are anticipated and will be allowable if and only if the substitute emphasizes experiential learning that will result in the student gaining first-hand experience in the development, launch and/or growth of a social venture (i.e., a mission-driven business venture or a revenue-generating nonprofit) (ENTR 364   or ENTR 455  ).

Students seeking approval for a course substitute will be required to submit a request in writing to the certificate’s faculty director. The request should indicate the course being proposed as a substitute and address how course activities/project(s) can be expected to satisfy the criterion noted above.

Credits to Total a Minimum of 9
