Hospitality Industry Management (BS)

Minimum grade C- in all required HOSP courses.


The Hospitality Industry Management program requires 700 or more hours of approved industry internship experience in the area of focus and an additional 100 hours of approved community service activities prior to graduation. The internship must complement the customized focus area.

Customized Focus Area:

Students are required to complete a minimum of 15 credits (five courses) in a well-defined focus area (minimum grade C-). A specific course plan for the fulfillment of the focus area requirement must be established during the freshman or sophomore year and must be approved by the HSIM advisor.

In addition, sufficient elective credits must be taken to meet the minimum credits required for the degree. May include Military Science, Music, or Physical Education. Only two credits of activity-type Physical Education and four credits of Music ensemble and four credits of 100 and 200-level courses in Military Science/Air Force may be counted toward the degree. Students are encouraged to develop fluency in a second language.
