French Studies Minor

Foreign Language Studies Minor

The Foreign Language Studies (FLS) minor requires participation in a UD Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures sponsored semester abroad program. See the Languages, Literatures and Cultures Study Abroad Coordinator for details and prerequisites. Credit requirements for the FLS minors are as follows:

Minor Requirements

FREN 211 - French Reading and Composition Credit(s): 3
FREN 4xx course (Newark campus only) (three credits)

Courses taken in Paris:

FREN 307 - Practical Oral Expression Credit(s): 3
or
FREN 407 - Advanced Oral French Credit(s): 3
FREN 309 - Practical Written Expression Credit(s): 3
or
FREN 409 - Advanced Written French Credit(s): 3

Three 300 or 400-level courses including:

HIST 339 and POSC 441 or any 300 or 400-level courses in any discipline, taught in French and approved via formal substitution by the Chair of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

Note:

A student cannot receive both a French Minor and a French Studies Minor.
