Nursing for the Registered Nurse - Nurse Practioner Adult-Gerontology (BSN/MSN)

Licensed RNs enter with 30 credits of nursing knowledge

 

Curriculum


University Requirements


  • ENGL 110 - Critical Reading and Writing (minimum grade C-) (3 cr.)
  • First Year Experience (0-4 cr.)
  • Discovery Learning Experience (DLE) (3 cr.)
  • Multicultural Course (3 cr.)
  • University Breadth Requirements (12 cr.)
    • Creative Arts and Humanities (3 cr.)
    • History and Cultural Change (3 cr.)
    • Social and Behavioral Sciences (3 cr.)
    • Math, Natural Sciences, and Technology (3 cr.)

Major Requirements


23 credits, to include a minimum of one course in each of the following five categories: (1) biology, (2) microbiology, (3) chemistry, (4) anatomy and physiology, and (5) nutrition

  • English course (second English composition course) 3 credits
  • Psychology course 3 credits
  • Lifespan development course 3 credits

Total Credits Required Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner: 144


After required courses are completed, sufficient elective credits must be taken to meet the minimum requirements
