Women and Gender Studies Certificate

Requirements for Certificate

The graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies requires 11 course credits. Students must earn a grade of B or higher in order for the credits to count toward the certificate. The course requirements include the following:

• WOMS 604 - Advanced Feminist Theory (3cr.)
• WOMS 605 - Feminist Research Methods (3cr.)
• WOMS 606 - Critical Feminist Pedagogy (4cr.)

• This course has a teaching requirement for our introductory courses

• WOMS 608 - Certificate Writing Requirement (1cr.)

• The writing requirement should be an extended piece of scholarly writing in Women and Gender Studies. This may be part of an MA thesis, a Ph.D. dissertation, or an essay of publishable quality.
