Finance
The Finance major will prepare you to understand and manage the financial aspects of business. Finance majors learn about financial markets, corporate finance, investment strategies, and risk management. The finance major will help you develop strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for navigating today’s complex financial system. Finance majors pursue careers in areas such as investment banking, corporate finance, asset management and financial analysis.
Fintech
The fintech major combines finance and technology, equipping students with skills in programming, data analysis, and financial systems. Fintech majors are trained to develop and implement technological solutions for financial transactions, investment management, banking, and insurance.Financial Planning & Wealth Management
The major in Financial Planning and Wealth Management serves the needs of students preparing to enter this exciting and growing field. In recent years, fFinancial planning has been ranked in recent years as one of the ten best career choices, and employment opportunities are projected to expand rapidly in the coming years. Prospective employers include financial planning firms as well as other companies that provide related products and services such as banks, insurance companies, and brokerage firms.
The Certified Financial Planning (CFP) Board has accredited the Lerner College’s fFinancial Pplanning and Wwealth Mmanagement program. Individuals who wish to take the CFP Exam must first complete a series of educational requirements. Graduates of the Ffinancial Pplanning and Wwealth Mmanagement major at UD will have satisfied the CFP education requirement. This means that our graduates can sit for the CFP Exam immediately after graduation.
4+1 Program: Undergraduate + Accelerated Graduate Degree
Students in the Finance major have the opportunity to participate in a 4+1, Finance BS + Finance MS program. With careful planning, academically eligible students can complete both their undergraduate degree and the MS degree in five years of academic study. Interested students shouldmust contact their academic advisor for specific curriculum information.
Fintech Minor
The fintech minor provides students of any major with a working understanding of the basics of fintech field, such as blockchain technology, digital currencies, payment systems, cybersecurity, and financial data analytics.
Trust Management Minor
The minor in Ttrust Mmanagement encompasses legal, tax, accounting, investment, and financial topics pertaining to managing trusts. Students will learn how to build and maintain relationships with trust clients and corporate partners in the field of high net-worth planning. Students will also learn strategies for efficient and successful intergenerational transfer of wealth and achieving clients’ personal estate planning, philanthropic and financial goals.
