NSCI 402 - Mindfulness and the Brain Credit(s): 3 MINDFULNESS & THE BRAIN Component: Lecture In this writing-intensive, discussion-based class, we will explore the neuroscience behind the reported benefits that are gained through mindfulness practices, including better emotion regulation, increased focus and attention, and improvements in overall well-being. Students will learn mindfulness skills for experiential learning as well as gain practice in asserting ideas and opinions in writing and during class discussions. Repeatable for Credit: N Allowed Units: 3 Multiple Term Enrollment: N Grading Basis: Student Option Crosslisted: Crosslisted with PSYC 402 . PREREQ: C- or better in NSCI100 or PSYC100.
